Palat. Palat. Palat. This is that bridge. The one Simran finally turned around on. In the Bernese Oberland, about 2 hours from Basel — and a natural pair with Lake Lauenen just up the road.

A still, mirrored alpine lake above Gstaad that Yash Chopra kept returning to across films. 20 minutes from the DDLJ bridge — these two make a perfect half-day pairing.

The promenade, the meadows, the Yash Chopra statue that Indian tourists make a beeline for. The town Bollywood essentially put on the map for an entire generation.

Lake Geneva, the Chillon castle in the distance, the soft Swiss Riviera light. More intimate than the mountain locations — beautiful for portraits and quieter moments.

Humko Humise Chura Lo was filmed right here. Turquoise water, a medieval castle on the hill, fields that stretch on forever. Pairs well with Lauterbrunnen — both in the same valley.

Seventy-two waterfalls in one valley. Dramatic cliffs, alpine villages, extraordinary natural light. Wengen and Mürren — the charming car-free villages above — are worth the extra cable car.

Fun fact for the LOTR fans: J.R.R. Tolkien visited this valley and it's widely believed to have inspired the landscape of Rivendell.

One of the most filmed peaks in Bollywood history. The glacier, the Cliff Walk suspension bridge, the snow that somehow makes every frame look like a movie still. A full cable car day — plan it on its own.

Alpine village life — wooden chalets, flower boxes, the Eiger as backdrop. Quieter and more intimate than the peaks. Pairs naturally with a Jungfrau day, same valley.
